Two-point Taylor expansions and one-dimensional boundary value problems

چکیده
We consider second-order linear differential equations φ(x)y′′ + f(x)y′ + g(x)y = h(x) in the interval (−1, 1) with Dirichlet, Neumann or mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions. We consider φ(x), f(x), g(x) and h(x) analytic in a Cassini disk with foci at x = ±1 containing the interval (−1, 1). The two-point Taylor expansion of the solution y(x) at the extreme points ±1 is used to give a criterion for the existence and uniqueness of solution of the boundary value problem. This method is constructive and provides the two-point Taylor approximation of the solution(s) when it exists.

Eigenfunction Expansions for Second-Order Boundary Value Problems with Separated Boundary Conditions
In this paper, we investigate some properties of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of boundary value problems with separated boundary conditions. Also, we obtain formal series solutions for some partial differential equations associated with the second order differential equation, and study necessary and sufficient conditions for the negative and positive eigenvalues of the boundary value problem....
متن کاملAugmented Lagrangian method for solving absolute value equation and its application in two-point boundary value problems
One of the most important topic that consider in recent years by researcher is absolute value equation (AVE). The absolute value equation seems to be a useful tool in optimization since it subsumes the linear complementarity problem and thus also linear programming and convex quadratic programming. This paper introduce a new method for solving absolute value equation. To do this, we transform a...
متن کاملHigher order multi-point fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions
In this paper, we concerned with positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions. We establish the criteria for the existence of at least one, two and three positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions by using a result from the theory of fixed...
متن کاملA Non-Classical Finite Difference Method for Solving Two Point Boundary Value Problems
A new kind of finite difference method is presented for solving two point boundary value problems. The method is based on rational function approximation technique and its development and analysis is based on Taylor series and binomial expansions. Local truncation error of the method is discussed. The method is tested on model problems and the numerical results are presented. The numerical resu...
متن کاملB-SPLINE METHOD FOR TWO-POINT BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS
In this work the collocation method based on quartic B-spline is developed and applied to two-point boundary value problem in ordinary diferential equations. The error analysis and convergence of presented method is discussed. The method illustrated by two test examples which verify that the presented method is applicable and considerable accurate.
